As the biggest workplace in Düsseldorf, the airport bears a special responsibility towards the roughly 17,500 people who work here. In addition, Düsseldorf International has for years been offering young people a safe take-off to their vocational future.

Düsseldorf Airport is an important business partner for many small and medium-sized firms from the surrounding communities. In 2008, for example, orders to a value of some 280 million euros were placed with firms in Düsseldorf, Ratingen and Meerbusch, making a significant contribution to securing jobs and strengthening the regional economy.
