Passengers with Disabilities
Because we want your visit to the Düsseldorf International to be as pleasant as possible, we are delighted to provide special services for our passengers with disabilities.
Please register with us!
In order to receive the kind of services you wish or need at the airport, it is important to register them with your airline early. When you are booking your trip, or at the latest when you are picking up your tickets, please let your travel agency know the nature of your handicap and what special arrangements you will require. Your travel agency will inform the airline with whom you have booked. Then the airline will be able to make any appropriate arrangements for your round-trip, and you will be able to receive the services you wish not only for your departure from or arrival at Düsseldorf, but also at your destination airport.
Handicapped groups are entitled to special check-in privileges if they register soon enough.
Parking
Passengers with disabilities: benefit from special attention
We recommend that passengers with disabilities arriving in their own car use the underground car park P1 situated directly beneath the terminal or multi-storey car parks P2 and P3 (see site plan ).
Passengers with disabilities in possession of a blue parking permit issued by the Road Traffic Licensing Department or a European parking permit may leave their vehicle at Düsseldorf airport free of charge at the passenger car parks in the areas TERMINAL and LANGZEIT (Long Stay), but not at car parks P11 and P12. The mere presentation of a disabled blue badge does not entitle you to use a disabled parking space. This particular parking dispensation is only granted to those holding a valid parking permit and not to those dropping off or picking up. We would ask people accompanying children with disabilities to contact the car park main office in advance.
On leaving one of our car parks, please use the intercom and a member of staff from the car park operator will come to the exit and, having made a note of the number of your disabled pass and car registration, enable you to leave.
